Barnes & Noble helps Wareham High School Art Department raise funds for trip
The Wareham High School Art Department is partnering with Barnes & Noble to raise funds for students to travel to New York City in April.
In an effort to raise funds to help defray the cost of this trip, the Art Club is working with Barnes Noble Booksellers by hosting a book fair at the North Dartmouth store on Friday, Dec. 14.
"An excursion such as this has numerous educational and cultural benefits, and will afford students the opportunity to gain a more global perspective," said art teacher Amy Dion.
Barnes & Noble will contribute a percentage of every sale made by customers who identify themselves as supporters of the WHS Art Club, or with a book fair voucher. Vouchers are available in the Wareham High School Main Office. Barnes & Noble is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wareham High art students will be available from 4 to 8 p.m. for story time and scavenger hunts, while other art students will assist customers with gift wrapping.
In addition, The Wareham High School Art Club will be collecting new books on Dec. 14, to be given to the Southcoast “Gifts to Give” program. Customers may also make a donation in any amount, and WHS art students will select and purchase the books to be donated.
Barnes & Noble is located at 392 State Road in the Dartmouth Towne Center, North Dartmouth. Book fair vouchers can be used from December 14 to December 20th. Vouchers can be copied and shared with friends and family anywhere in the country, to use at any Barnes & Noble store.
