Beatrice T. Fernandes, 90, of Marion, died Oct. 18 at Sippican Healthcare Center after a long illness.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Fernandes and Josephine (Andrews) Gonsalves. She lived in the area her entire life and worked as an assembler for H.L. Bouton in Buzzards Bay.

She loved cooking, especially her home-made cracker stuffing for the holidays and baking coffee cake for friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing in Buzzard’s Bay aboard the “Miscarriage,” and was an avid Red Sox fan.  

Survivors include her children, Patricia Fernandes of Wareham, and Jean Barboza of Marietta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and nine-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Roberta Baptiste, her siblings, the late Clara Gonsalves and Manuel Fernandes, and her long-time companion, Jessie Lopes.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Wednsday, Oct. 24 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Church, Onset Ave., Onset at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
