Boston Pride skates into Wareham
National Women’s Hockey League player Alyssa Gagliardi visited Olympia Sports in East Wareham on Feb. 23 to meet with fans and sign autographs.
Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Gagliardi plays ice hockey for Boston Pride.
Founded in 2015, Boston Pride is one of four charter franchises of the National Women’s Hockey League.
In college, Gagliardi played NCAA hockey at Cornell University and accumulated 89 points over four years.
Gagliardi was also a member of four ECAC championship teams with Cornell.
Her visit to Wareham was sponsored by Boost Oxygen in an effort to promote the growth and visibility of professional hockey for women.
“We are very proud to support and sponsor the National Women’s Hockey League,” said Chief Executive Officer Rob Neuner. “These players are truly an inspiration to all and to young female players who love the game.”
