Bourne woman charged with stealing from parked cars, discarding loaded gun
A 34-year-old Bourne woman, identified as Cassandra Lewandowski. was charged with breaking and entering a vehicle, larceny and various firearm charges after an incident at Stop and Shop in Wareham on Feb. 16.
Wareham Police Officers responded to a report of Lewandowski pulling on car doors in the parking lot of the store at 2991 Cranberry Highway. She was found to have discarded a firearm while interacting with officers. She was immediately taken into custody without incident, and the firearm was secured.
Further investigation revealed that Lewandowski had stolen items from an unsecured vehicle in the parking lot, according to police.
Lewandowski is being held on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Wareham 4th District Court on Feb. 18.
Chief Walter Correia Jr. praised the collaborative effort between the employee at Stop and Shop who reported the incident to police, and the officers involved.
