Bruce M. Barboza, 66, of Wareham died May 22 in Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of Joanne (Leonard) Barboza and the son of the late Joseph and Olive (Nunes) Barboza.

He was born in Wareham and lived there all of his life. He graduated from Wareham High School.

Mr. Barboza worked as an operating engineer for P.J. Keating for over 33 years before retiring a few weeks ago. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 4.

He enjoyed fishing and working.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Leonard) Barboza; a son, Michael Barboza of Sagamore Beach; a daughter, Shanna York of New Bedford; a brother, Jack Barboza of Wareham; three sisters, Sandra Mendes of Wareham, Sheila Barboza of Florida and Gail Gomes of New Bedford; a granddaughter, London York; several nephews and nieces.

His memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
