Bruce Duquette, 76

Bruce Elmer Duquette, 76, of Plymouth passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 25 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the beloved husband of Nancy Ella (Kreutel) Duquette.

Born in Norwood, he was the son of the late William Raymond Duquette, Sr. and Mary Blanche (Williams) Duquette.

Bruce grew up in Norwood, graduated from Boston Trade High School and RETS Electronics School, where he received his Associates degree. He worked at MIT for many years where he researched and built lasers and participated in the Star Wars program under the Department of Defense.

He enjoyed tinkering with cars and building kit cars. He was a former member of the Kit Car Club of Massachusetts. He liked shopping for bargains at clearance sections and loved the Dollar Store. He attended Red Sox games at Fenway Park and liked to walk around Quincy Market.

Bruce leaves his wonderful daughter, Marcia Jean Duquette, and his sweet granddaughter, Brittany Alexandra Trunk.  He is also survived by his brother, William Raymond Duquette, Jr. of Norwood and two sisters, Jean Blanche (Duquette) Meninno of Franklin and Phyllis May Duquette of Norwood. Bruce also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Randall William Kreutel of Scottsdale, Arizona; nieces and nephews, one grand-niece and two grand-nephews. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law Alexander Meninno and his sister-in-law, Alice “Sam” Kreutel.

Bruce was a communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sandwich. He will be missed by all who knew him. He loved to talk to people and was a good and faithful friend.

There will be a memorial service at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sandwich, MA at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 11.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church in support of Outreach and Prayer Ministries or to the Jordan Club Cancer Center at Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. Arrangements are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 40 MacArthur Blvd. Bourne.
