Business expo a big hit

More than 40 vendors and well over 100 luncheon guests and members of the general public came out to the third annual Wareham business expo last Friday.

The expo, which was held at the new Rosebrook Events Center in the TownePlace Suites at Rosebrook Place, was held to build business awareness and collaborations.

“It went really well,” said Marie Oliva head of the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce.

The Cape Cod Canal Chamber co-hosted the event with the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce and the Wareham Community and Economic Development Authority.

Oliva said the expo allowed exhibitors to reach customers, while the grow-your-own business luncheon had a panel of experts speak on small business topics.

Dorothy Savarse, CEO of Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, was the luncheon’s keynote speaker.

Oliva said that she received positive feedback from both vendors and attendees. She said planning for next year’s expo will begin within the next few weeks.

“It’s all about economic development and helping the community,” she said.
