CapeFLYER to finally stop in Wareham

Jun 17, 2014

Better late than never for the CapeFLYER in Wareham.

According to Selectmen Alan Slavin, the weekend train service will be making its first stop in Wareham on Friday, June 27.

The train was originally scheduled to make its first stop on Merchant's Way in Wareham on Memorial Day weekend. But according to Tom Cahir, an administrator for the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority, the 400-foot-long train platform did not meet the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act and was unable to open that weekend.

The train, which runs between South Station and Hyannis with stops in Braintree, Middleboro/Lakeville, and Buzzards Bay, operated last summer for the first time.

Tickets for a one way trip from South Station to Wareham are $20. Round trip tickets are $35.
