Carl R. Miller, 63, of West Wareham, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 1. Carl was the beloved husband of Ilee (Welch) Miller of West Wareham. Carl was born in Norwood, MA the son of the late Bruce and Grace (Mann) Miller.

A longtime resident of Natick, MA, Carl graduated from Natick High School in 1970. He attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and studied architectural drafting. Carl was a member of the Bill Carson band from 1975 to 1984 and continued to entertain and play music for many years after. An avid windsurfer, Carl loved catching the wind off Ned’s Point in Mattapoisett. His horses and dogs were also a wonderful part of his life.

Carl was employed for 18 years as a Sales Representative with the Casey Graham Company, an engineered maintenance business. Moving to Middleborough in 1999 he became a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in 2003 and for over a decade loved his work at the Post Office.

In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by; one son Christopher Miller of Plant City, Florida, he was the brother of Bruce Miller Jr. of Natick, Ronald Miller of Charlotte, NC , Jeffrey Miller of Milford, Gail Langhart of Hudson, Marion Hamilton of Foxboro, Laurie Kelly of Uxbridge and their families. Carl is also survived by his Aunt Ellie Mann and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His family is grateful to the amazing oncologists at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Morton Hospital for helping him beat the odds these last five years. Carl did ultimately win his heroic battle with cancer. His family is also thankful for the kindness of Hope Hospice.
