Carolee's Comedy Corner continues on April 16
Carolees Comedy Corner’s Summer Comedy Season continues on April 16, bringing to the stage three comedians. Mike Murray and Anthony Smithare familiar to the Corner’s audience and the Guest Spot is reserved for Xazmin Graza appearing at BPP for the first time.
Murray, known as “The Deaf Comic,” was hearing impaired until the age of forty. Cochlear implants brought him into the hearing world. Now, he views both worlds with humor and a smile. He has brought his brand of comedy to Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New Jersey.
Smith was the 1st prize winner of Carolees Comedy Corner’s Comedy Contest in 2015. Smith is the host of L.A's hottest new radio talk show "Trending Topics with Ant & Shira.” He has recently released his new comedy CD entitled “Anthony Smith, On Fire."Smith has been doing comedy for 4 years, performing in Boston, and in Connecticut.
Garza has performed comedy all over the U.S.: the House of Comedy, Arizona; Comedy Night at the Shaskeen Pub, New Hampshire; Bull Feeney's, Maine; and Friday Night Comedy at Sandy Station, Utah. But she performs mostly in the New England area in clubs such as Boston’s Limelight Comedy Club, Improv Boston, and Nick's Comedy Stop, as well as Foxborough’s The Comedy Scene at CBS Scene and Cambridge’s The Comedy Studio.
Her comedy is a reflection of herself, smart and socially-conscious. She talks about her experiences growing up as a Latina in predominantly-white Utah, and her opinions on race and feminism are laced with pop culture references.
Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $14.00 for general admission.
Ages18+ are welcomed and 21+ for drinks.
