Celebrate Salsa moves to Old Methodist Meeting Hose

Jan 3, 2017

Wareham Dances will join forces with the Wareham Historical Society to present Celebrate Salsa on Jan. 7.

Lessons begin at 6:45 p.m. followed by social dancing until 10 p.m. Suggested donations are as follows: lesson $5, dance $8. seniors and students (valid ID for high school and college required) $6. A one-year membership to the Cultural Connection, Inc. is free with each donation.

This dance program was formerly held at the Boys & Girls Club in Onset. Beginning on Jan. 7, Celebrate Salsa will be held at the Wareham Historical Society's Old Methodist Meeting House on the first Saturday of each month. There is no Celebrate Salsa dance in July or December.

The Old Methodist Meeting House is located at 495 Main St. This former church has recently been through a major makeover by the Wareham Historical Society funded by a Community Preservation Act grant. The makeover features new flooring and interior appointments making for a intimate space for salsa and other ballroom dancing.

This year, Celebrate Salsa also features new dance instructor/facilitators from the Paris Academy of Ballroom Dancing in Taunton – Dianne O'Day and Ryan Costa. These professionals will teach and lead bachata, merengue and other appropriate Latin dance as requested.

The Cultural Connection, Inc., is a broad spectrum, charitable, tax exempt, tax deductible organization whose purpose is creating, connecting and preserving public cultural assets and related infrastructure for the benefit of Greater Wareham.
