Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Forestview is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an event for the entire community.

On Saturday Sept. 27 from noon to 2 p.m., Kindred will have a cookout to celebrate and thank its staff, residents, families, and the larger Wareham community. There will be food, music, and face painting and balloon art for the kids.

“We are grateful for everyone’s support during the past 25 years and look forward to many more years serving the community,” said Danielle Fusco, executive director.

Kindred-Forestview provides care for patients and residents with a number of different needs across age groups.

“We have evolved from providing primarily long-term care to now offering rehabilitation services for patients who need short-term care before transitioning to their next level of care,” said. Fusco.

Fusco noted the longevity of Forestview’s staff, including Medical Records Coordinator Catherine Kelliher, who has worked at the facility since it first opened.

“It’s been exciting to see us grow and accommodate the residents with all these services over the years,” said Kelliher. “It’s a nice, warm atmosphere here.”

Kelliher said when she started out there were 80 residents and a similarly sized staff while today there are 175 beds and close to 200 employees.

She said she has seen many changes over the last 25 years, but the quality of the employees hasn’t wavered.

“It’s basically the same quality of care doing what we can for the residents here.”
