Charles C. Card, Jr., of Wareham, died on Friday, June 19, in his home surrounded by his loving family. His transition from this life to the next was loving and peaceful after fighting a progressive illness for several years. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Alice Card.

Charles, the son of a 20-year Air Force veteran, traveled the world with his family. He also spent two years in Germany during his service in the Army. Charles graduated from Wareham High School and was a star on the football team. He worked for the A.D. Makepeace Company for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator and cranberry grower. He was active in the community and respected by many.

His love for God and nature was reflected in his kindness and compassion for others. Charles loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Judy include his children, Sean, Stephanie and her husband Billy and Siobhan all of Wareham; four grandchildren and one great grandson. His sister Susan Card and brother Thomas Card both reside in Florida.

Charles will be forever loved and missed. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 27 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway at noon. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service.
