Charles T. du Moulin (Ted), 96, of Wareham, formerly of Newton Centre passed away on Tuesday, May 12. Beloved husband of the late Edith E. (Lasoff) du Moulin for 62 years.

He leaves his sons Gary (Barbara) of Newton, Peter (Kay) of Tucson, Arizona, and Barry of Daytona Beach, Florida. Ted also leaves four grandchildren and three great grandchildren who brought him great happiness.

He was born in Jamaica, Long Island, New York son of the late Adele and Theodore du Moulin and lived most of his life in Newton. After retiring he moved to Wareham.

A veteran of WWII, Ted served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the North Atlantic Greenland Patrol protecting convoys and in the South Pacific transporting troops to the Pacific battlefields. He was most proud of his involvement in bringing hundreds of Polish orphans from war torn Europe to New Zealand where they were adopted by the people of New Zealand.

Ted was a very active member of the Cambridge Boat Club, Onset Protective League, American Legion Post 220 and the Dudley L. Brown Post 2846 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Onset.

Funeral services were held at Temple Beth Avodah in Newton. Memorial donations in Ted’s name may be made to the Dudley L. Brown Post 2846 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Box 106 Onset, MA 02558 or to a charity of your preference.
