Christen J. Pires, 47, of West Wareham, aka “Black Bart of CT” entered eternal peace on March 18, 2022.

He was born in Wareham and lived in West Wareham all his life. “It’s no fun when the fox has the gun.”

Mr. Pires worked in the construction field. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, camping, trips to the casino, traveling cross country, floating down the Saco River in Maine and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his mother, Roberta J. Pires of West Wareham; his step father, Benjamin R. Barboza, Sr. of Norwich, CT; his brother and sister, Benjamin R. Barboza, Jr. and Gabrielle A. Barboza both of Norwich, CT; his long-time companion Aleta Bicer of Dartmouth; his German Shepherd “Wolf”; a niece, Kayia L. “Butts” Pero of AL; a nephew, Benjamin R. “Tripp” Barboza, III of NE; his aunts and uncles, Lynne Lopes of Onset, Lydia Lightford of Brockton, Brian Pires, Barry Pires, Sidney “Peachie” Pires all of West Wareham, Paul Pires of Onset, Darrell Pires of West Wareham, Viola Pina-Pires and Donna Gomes both of New Bedford; many cousins and friends “young bucks”. He was predeceased by his grandparents, the late Lydia Pires and the late Sidney Pires, his aunt, the late Lee Pires and his uncles, the late Patrick Pires, the late Christopher Pires, and the late Jeffrey Alves.

Visiting hours are from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
