MARION – Christian G. Rezendes, Sr., 90, of Marion passed away on August 28, 2023, at home. He was the son of the late Peter and Marie (DePina) Rezendes.

He was born in Marion and lived there all his life. He graduated from Wareham High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Rezendes worked as a manager at Wareham Country Market until he was 86 years old. Previously he worked for May Optical.

He was known affectionately as the “Mayor of Wareham”.

Survivors include his daughter, Christina Ages of Highlands Ranch, CO; his son, Cristian G. Rezendes, Jr. of Kingston; 3 grandchildren, Brittany Rezendes, Sara Ages, and Matthew Ages; his siblings, Mary Lomba, Joanne Lopes, and John Rezendes all of Marion; Enis Krol of Dallas, Zackaria Rezendes of Marion and Lucille Reynolds of CT; He was the brother of the late Manuel Rezendes, Amos Rezendes, Peter Rezendes, Louis Rezendes and Elaine Silva.

Visiting hours are from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 20223 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham.
