WAREHAM – Clara (Pina) Barboza, 93, of Wareham, passed away peacefully on Nov. 18, 2023, at Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Buzzards Bay.  She was the wife of the late William H. Barboza and the daughter of the late Antone and Anna (Texeira) Pina.

She was born in Carver and lived in Wareham all of her life.  She graduated from New Bedford High School.

Mrs. Barboza worked as a secretary for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for several years before retiring.  She had also worked as a telephone operator.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.  She enjoyed time with her family, crocheting and a few nights a week at Bingo.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Rumley of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Ronica Kitchen of Chicago, IL  and Leonard T. Kitchen, Jr. of Universal City, TX; three great grandchildren, Alexi and Sonia Kitchen and Brannon Washington; two great great grandchildren Isiah and Selena; her siblings, Hilda Rivers of Brockton, Virginia Seeley of New Bedford and Joseph Gracia of New Bedford. She was the sister of the late Edward Pina, Antonia Gonsalves, Mimi Fontes, John Gracia, III, Anthony Gracia, Louis Pina and Jeanne Hines.

Visiting hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
