Community Baptist kicks off 4th Annual Backpack Ministry

Community Baptist Church of Marion has begun its 4th annual backpack ministry. Through this program the church collects toiletries and fills backpacks to be given to the homeless. This year the backpacks will go to the "Names of Hospitality" in Wareham. The Nights of Hospitality is the homeless shelter that is held on a rotating basis for the ten coldest weeks of the year at five different churches in Wareham. Community Baptist will be collecting toiletries and backpacks until December 18th when the backpacks will be blessed and then taken to Church of the Good Shepherd in Wareham for use at the shelter. If you would like to donate Items or backpacks; items desired for each backpack are:
● 1 bottle of shampoo (or several travel size)
● 1 bottle of hair conditioner (or several trial size)
● 1 can of shaving cream
● 1 tube of toothpaste
● 1 adult toothbrush
● 1 deodorant
● 1 large bar of soap (in a plastic zip lock bag)
● 1 hair comb or brush
● 4 individual Band-Aids
● 2 disposable razors
● 1 body lotion (or several travel size)
● 1 pocket-size packet of tissues
● 1 pair of warm socks
● 1 washcloth (new or clean used)
● 1 mending/sewing kit
● 1 small packet of laundry soap
● 1 shower cap
● 1 bath gel/beads/foam
● 1 trial-size hair spray
● 1 small notebook and pen
● Hat and mittens and scarf
