Cup of the Bay 2 reopens as "Cup 2"
After closing in December, East Wareham cafe Cup of the Bay 2 has reopened under a new name: Cup 2.
Clive Olson, who owns the 3175 Cranberry Highway property, as well as Olson's Garden Center next door, completed a few cosmetic renovations and upgraded the kitchen equipment. The cafe opened Friday morning.
"It's a big difference. It should be a lot more efficient now," Olson said.
Olson said he was excited to have the cafe up-and-running again. "I used to go there everyday, and I saw all the same people [this] morning. It was great," he said.
Upgrades include a fresh coat of interior paint, a new side door leading out to the patio, and digital food and drink menus.
The Cup 2 menu is similar to its predecessor's and will expand to include salads and hot sandwiches beginning this week. There is a new "grab-and-go" cooler with juices, fruit, and other to-go breakfast and lunch items.
"We kept all the good stuff that everybody loves about the place and just added to it," Olson said.
The cafe will be open from 5:30 a.m. to noon until Saturday, March 27. It will be open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. thereafter.
Gift cards and gift certificates purchased before the cafe closed will be accepted, Olson said.
