Deborah Frances (McGrath) King, 75

Aug 19, 2020

Deborah Frances (McGrath) King, 75, of Wareham, died August 17, 2020, at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of 53 years of Donald P. King and the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Deborah F. (Sullivan) McGrath.

She was born and raised in Brighton and then lived in Wollaston before moving to Wareham in 1969. She graduated from St. Columbkille High School.

Mrs. King worked for H.L. Bouton Company in Buzzards Bay for 23 years before retiring.

She was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and camping -- especially camping. She and her husband traveled throughout the United States since the late ‘90s through 2014 with so many special memories being made. Many times, they were joined by one or two of their grandchildren. They often shared their adventure in Cody, WY, having gone to a western town, their first rodeo, the Buffalo Bill Museum, and Mount Rushmore. She was always in the “shotgun” seat looking over the edge as they traveled up Pikes Peak. She loved the quiet nights around the campfire and wanted to take some of the stars back to the Cape.
Survivors include her husband, Donald P. King; 3 sons, Jeffrey J. King  and Matthew J. King, both of Wareham, and Shayne P. King of Plymouth; 4 sisters, Catherine M. Harper of Quincy, Maureen E. Cabradilla of Wareham, Emily G. Doucette of Haverhill and Anne M. Doucette of Lynn; 12 grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph L. McGrath, Jr. and William P. McGrath.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. (Appropriate COVID-19 protocol will be observed including the use of face masks, social distancing and expect long wait times in line due to temporary limited capacity).

Her funeral is being held privately.
