Deck the halls of Wareham schools with STARS
Deck the halls of Wareham Public Schools with STARS this holiday season with a donation to the Foundation for Wareham Education.
STARS stands for "School Teachers Really Are Stars!" Here's how it works: Donate any amount to the foundation's STARS program in honor of a Wareham teacher. The teacher will be given a star to let them know that you're grateful for all that they do.
Teachers are encouraged to display the stars on their classroom doors. Flyers with instructions will be sent home in the coming days, or click here to print out a form to send in with your student! The program runs until December 17.
The nonprofit Foundation for Wareham Education was created to assist teachers and students in Wareham Public Schools by enriching and advancing curriculum offerings and providing materials beyond which the local budget allows. The proceeds from the STARS program will benefit the foundation's work.
Since its inception in 2009, numerous small grants have been awarded to teachers to supplement projects and field trips, such as biology and marine units, civic peace-building projects, and community service programs.
