Developer hoping to build marina off Main Street to be collecting signatures this weekend
Danny Warren, the business owner hoping to build a marina, restaurant and wedding venue on Main Street, will be at the site this weekend. He hopes to speak to people in town about their ideas for the site and the town, and will also be collecting signatures.
In addition to permission from various town boards, Warren will need a state permit to build a marina.
If he gets enough signatures in support of the project, Warren said the state has agreed to expedite the permitting process. Instead of receiving a decision on his permit applications in a year to a year and a half, he could get a decision in October.
Warren’s applications for permits at the town level are still in process, and unrelated to the signature collection.
Warren will be at 59 Main Street, commonly known as the site of the old Greer Lumberyard, from noon to 3 p.m. this Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28.
