Donald E. Hayward, Jr., 66, of E. Wareham, died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at his home after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ella M. (Roderick) Hayward.

Born in Stoughton, he was the son of the late Barbara F. (Silva) and Donald E. Hayward, Sr. Donald graduated from Stoughton High School and was an earlier resident of Brockton and Bridgewater before moving to Wareham in 1987.

Donald was a recovery supervisor for BJ’s Wholesale Club in Uxbridge for many years. He also worked security for Xfinity Center in Mansfield where he met many musicians and celebrities.

He enjoyed motorcycles and cars, playing guitar, fishing and gardening. Donald owned a Harley-Davidson and a Mazda Miata and belonged to the Miata Mingle car club. Spending time with his children and grandchildren is what he enjoyed most.

Survivors include his wife, Ella of E. Wareham; his son, Edward A. Hayward of E. Wareham; his foster-daughter, Nikeia James of Wareham; his brother, Allen Hayward of Woonsocket, RI; his grandchildren, Andre, Ella-Lynn, Dakota and Damitre; his brothers in-law, Les Roderick and his wife Kathleen of Brockton, Tom Roderick of E. Bridgewater, Bobby Roderick of W. Wareham, Cathy April of Easton; sisters-in-law Judy Roderick of Florida and Maureen Roderick of Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry Hayward; his sisters, Valerie Hayward and Nancy Hayward; and his brothers in-law, Roy Roderick, Fred Roderick, Edward Roderick, Michael Roderick and Peter Roderick.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., (Rt. 28), Wareham from 2-5 p.m. A prayer service will follow at 5 p.m.
