Three people were arrested for heroin possession Thursday afternoon when an off-duty Wareham police officer noticed them outside of the Dollar Tree on Cranberry Highway.

Officer Robert McLain notified Wareham police when he saw three individuals, later identified as Henrique Goncalves, 33, of Onset, Jamal Wilson, 37 of Bourne and Jaimee Morris, 25, of Wareham inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree in the Cranberry Plaza.

Officer McLain notified the Wareham Police Department and requested units to the scene. When officers arrived, Goncalves was found in possession of a small plastic bag containing a brown powdery substance believed to be heroin. A small amount of heroin and related drug paraphernalia were also found during a search of the vehicle.

The three individuals were arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Class A controlled substance (heroin)

The three were scheduled to be arraigned on the charges at Wareham 4th District Court on Friday, Oct. 17.
