Edward Donahue, 95

Edward T. Donahue, 95, of Wareham, died May 9 at his home. He was the husband of the late Marion L. (Nelson) Donahue.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Bernard and Rose (Commier) Donahue. A graduate of Arlington High School, he attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Donahue worked as an oil burner technician.

Mr. Donahue served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1947. He was a member of the American Legion Anthony Hunt Post #221, Bedford; V.F.W. Post #10131, Cape Canaveral, Florida, Point Independence Yacht Club, Irish American Club of Arlington and the Wareham/New Bedford Lodge of Elks.

He is survived by his children; Bernard Donahue of Maynard, Joan Meckel of Nashua, New Hampshire and Katherine Donahue of Wareham; his sister, Dorothy Donahue of Florida; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, the late Edward T. Donahue, Jr.; and his granddaughter, the late Erin Sheehan.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham at noon. Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Interment in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham.
