Edwin “Ed” Batterton, 73, of Wareham, MA passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023 at Tobey Hospital following a courageous three year fight against cancer. Born in Somerville, Ma on July 5, 1950, he is the proud son of the late Edwin N. Batterton and late Catherine “Kay” Batterton (Sanders). Ed is survived by his daughter Nicole Ollhoff and husband Nathan of Edina, Mn; son Paul Batterton and wife Ryta of Milton, Ma; siblings Marlene Bolduc (Roger) of Henderson, NV, William Batterton (Kathy) of Gulf Breeze, FL and Dan Batterton (Patti) of Byfield, Ma. He is the beloved  ‘Grampy’ of his four grandchildren; Abigail, Jacob, Brynn and Grant. 

Ed was a humble and devoted family man that would always go the extra mile to help the people around him. He was a proud employee of the Wareham Public Schools for 25 years and remained friends with many teachers and staff beyond his retirement.  An avid sports fan, Ed loved to golf and watch the Boston sports teams. He also loved to play cards, read and walk at the beach, bowl and spend time with his dear friend and companion Joanne Murphy. A highlight for him was his  annual golf trip with his buddies. Ed persevered through the ups and downs of his cancer treatment over the years; he was a fighter and maintained his positive outlook without a single complaint the entire time. He will be missed so very much.
