Eileen Alden, 95
Eileen (Walsh/Mahoney) Alden, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on Buttermilk Bay on Sept. 18, 2021, with friends and family around her.
She was born and lived in the Taunton area for many years before moving to Buzzards Bay in 1985.
Eileen worked as a sales representative for Bay State Gas Co. in Brockton for over 25 years.
She was the director of CCD at St. Anne’s Church in Raynham for several years and enjoyed working in the parish.
She successfully became governor of the 15th District of Quota International (a worldwide charity). She was President of the Board for Tree Lakes Gated Retirement Community in Palmetto, FL where she resided in the winters. She was a Red Cross volunteer in Taunton during WWII.
Eileen was the wife of the late WWII veteran John Joseph Alden and mother of the late Priscilla J. Alden of Wareham, Anne Louise and John Joseph Alden.
She is survived by 2 sons, Daniel J. Alden of Raynham and Timothy F. Alden and his wife Susan of Wareham; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca E. Alden and Megan S. Alden; 2 respective grandchildren, Farrah M. Galvin and Thomas F. Galvin, III and 2 great grandchildren, Violet A. A. Liddell and Michael A. Pitre.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at St. Anne’s Church, 675 North Main St., Raynham. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Taunton. Following burial, friends are invited to a gathering from 1pm-4pm at Methodist Meeting House, 495 Main St. Wareham.
