NEW BEDFORD – Ellen C. Shepardson, 68, of New Bedford, formerly of Wareham died, Tuesday, December 20, 2022 unexpectedly.

Born in Holyoke, she was the daughter of the late Helen E. (Bolack) and John J.  Cavanaugh, Sr.

Ellen worked for 32 years as a medical record processor in Wareham. She loved spending time with her grandson, being with her daughters, and seeing her family. Ellen had an appreciation for the small things in life; a hot cup of coffee, a day driving around scenic New Hampshire, watching TV with the family pets, going out for fish and chips and chowder, a hot humid summer day, a decorated Christmas tree, or hearing about her grandson’s day at school. She supported and loved those close to her unconditionally and she valued her family over everything.

Survivors include her daughters, Norma Shepardson and Sarah Shepardson both of New Bedford; her stepdaughter, Jessica Shepardson of New Bedford; her grandson, Dylan Sylvia of New Bedford; and her brothers, David J. Cavanaugh of Holyoke, John J. Cavanaugh of Colorado Springs, CO, Brian Cavanaugh of Glenburn, ME, and Daniel E. Cavanaugh of Yarmouth.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Chapman Funerals and Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 11 AM to 1 PM. A prayer service will follow at 1 PM.
