Longtime Finance Director John Foster will be retiring from his position after 31 years in the role.

The announcement was made by Town Administrator Derek Sullivan at Town Meeting Tuesday, April 29 and Foster received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Director of finance is one of the many positions in town Foster has held over the course of his decades of work for the town. Foster has served as the director of assessing, treasure collector and acting town administrator.

“John’s always been there for this town, he’s helped make the financial success that’s been going on and we appreciate everything he’s done,” said Sullivan.
