First Congregational Church Wareham Hosts Free Ice Cream Social and Church History Exhibit

Aug 7, 2015

Story Location:
11 Gibbs Ave
Wareham, MA
United States

For over 275 years the good people of the First Congregational Church of Wareham have been wild about free ice cream. If you also like free ice cream, or have an interest in local history, you will want to make a stop at FCC’s Sundaes on Sunday event, Sunday, August 16th from 2-4pm.

The First Congregational Church of Wareham is one of the oldest congregations on the south shore and has played a significant role in the life of the town since its founding. Come hear the stories of this early historic site and view original documents, photographs, books and more. There will also be a special presentation about the church’s antique stained glass window, an early signed work by Charles J. Connick, which won the blue ribbon in the stained glass category of the 1914 Chicago World Exhibition.

The free Sundae fixin’s have been generously donated by Kool Kone of Wareham. Donations towards FCC’s Mustard Seed Projects will be appreciated.
