Beach water samples were analyzed for water quality on July 7. The Barnstable County Laboratory notified the Wareham Board of Health that Forbes Beach in Parkwood has tested beyond the allowable tolerances for coliform bacteria levels.

Swimming at Forbes Beach could pose potentially serious health problems to certain segments of the general population, i.e. the very young, very old, or immune-compromised.

All other beach water samples meet the bacterial standards. All other beaches are open.
