Foundation for Wareham Education hosts 'A Taste of Wareham'

May 7, 2013

The Foundation for Wareham Education is hosting its semi-annual fundraiser, "A Taste of Wareham," on Friday, May 17, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Tihonet Village, off of Tihonet Road in Wareham.

The event will feature tastings from local restaurants such as Lindsey's, Pipers, The Firehouse Cafe, Ella's Wood Burning Oven Restaurant, Bailey's, and Narrows Crossing.

Reservations are not required, but are recommended, and may be made by contacting rgakidis@ne-cat.org. Tickets cost $35 and will be held at the door. Wareham Public Schools teachers can purchase tickets at a discounted price of $25.

The nonprofit Foundation for Wareham Education was created to assist teachers and students in Wareham Public Schools by enriching and advancing curriculum offerings and providing materials beyond which the local budget allows.

Since its inception in 2009, numerous small grants have been awarded to teachers to supplement projects and field trips, such as biology and marine units, civic peace-building projects, and community service programs.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the foundation's work. For more information or to donate to the cause online, visit www.foundationforwarehameducation.org.
