Wareham Police arrested four people for breaking and entering and illegal possession of firearms on Sunday morning.

According to a press release, at approximately 6 a.m., Wareham patrol officers responded to a report from a homeowner on Pires Street that unknown subjects were noticed inside the house on the home security system. There was no one home at the time of the reported incident.

Upon arrival, Sgt. Dan Henderson and Officer David Melo entered the home and heard crashing noises, then saw three males jump out a window at the rear of the house and run from the property. A female who sat in a vehicle parked near Pires Street when the officers arrived also ran from the scene.

While the male was being placed into custody, K-9 Officer Mike Phinney and his partner “Rolf” began to follow the two fleeing men, which led to the area of Narrows Restaurant.

Officer Karl Baptiste and Lt. John Walcek then learned that the two remaining male suspects were inside the restaurant.

The two male suspects ran out the back door of Narrows Restaurant but were quickly apprehended along the nearby shore by K-9 Rolf and Officer Caleb Larue.
