Four of five home invasion suspects indicted
Four of the five suspects arrested in connection with a brutal East Wareham home invasion in May were indicted by a grand jury on Friday, July 27, at Plymouth County Superior Court in Brockton.
Jordan Gomes and Brian Santiago were both indicted on one count of aggravated rape, one count of fire-armed home invasion, and four counts of fire-armed robbery while masked, according to Rebecca Elias of the court's Clerk's office.
Santiago was apprehended while on a bus trip in Savannah, Georgia on May 22. Jordan Gomes turned himself in at Wareham District Court on June 19.
Justin Gomes, Jr. of Wareham was charged with one count of fire-armed home invasion and four counts of fire-armed robbery while masked, Elias said.
Kendrick Williams of Wareham was indicted on one count of fire-armed home invasion and five counts of fire-armed robbery while masked, Elias said.
The fifth defendant in the home invasion, Robert Brown, Jr., has not yet been indicted, Elias said.
According to police reports, three to four suspects described as wearing dark clothing and masks covering the lower portion of their faces allegedly brandished firearms and entered the East Wareham home shortly after 12 a.m. on May 17.
The suspects allegedly raped a 21-year-old female victim and a 49-year-old female victim in a brutal manner. The suspects also allegedly stole cash and jewelry from the home.
The attorneys for Justin Gomes, Robert Brown, and Kendrick Williams asserted during a dangerousness hearing on May 22 that their clients were not involved in the rape.
