Frances Vicino, 76
Frances M. Vicino, 76, of Wareham died Dec. 29 at her home surrounded by her family after a short illness. She was the wife of the late James J. Vicino, Jr.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Eleanor A. (Leavey) Cyr. A previous resident of Mission Hill and Mansfield, she moved to Wareham in 1965. Mrs. Vicino worked as a histology technician at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston. She also worked for many years at her family’s business, Hi-Way Concrete in Wareham.
Mrs. Vicino was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham and a member of the Folk Group. She was also a member of the Friends of Sacred Heart Seminary and a member of the former Lioness Club in Wareham.
She is survived by her daughter, Theresa A. Tello and her partner, John O’Mahony of Wareham; her sons, J. Scott Vicino and his wife Carol of Mattapoisett, Paul D. Vicino and his wife Yoko of Wareham, Michael J. Vicino and his wife Lori of Mattapoisett, David J. Vicino and his wife Heather of Victor, New York, and John J. Vicino and his wife Janet of Bourne. Also surviving is her brother, Robert Cyr and his wife Joan of Walpole; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Jackie Cyr and her sister, the late Patricia Cyr-Killarney.
Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Route 28), Wareham on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
