Frank D. Ricardo, Sr., 74

Frank D. Ricardo, Sr., 74, of Wareham, died peacefully with his loved ones at his side, Jan. 17, 2022, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth. He was the husband of Karen L. (Casey) Ricardo and the son of the late John Ricardo and Mary (Coville) Wood of Plymouth. 

He was born and raised in Plymouth. He graduated from Plymouth-Carver High School. He lived most of his life in Plymouth, for the last several years he and his wife Karen have lived in Wareham.

Frank was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He also served as a Fire Fighter for the town of Plymouth. His time as a Fireman meant so much to him. Before his retirement he worked as a truck driver for Werner Enterprises and P.A. Landers. He enjoyed working as a semi-retiree on the golf course at Pinehills in Plymouth. 

Frank enjoyed time with his family, horn bread sandwiches with sliced meat, miracle whip, pickled onions and linguica bread on Sundays when Clyde’s Deli was open. He also enjoyed fishing with family and friends at the jetty in Plymouth Harbor. He loved to go apple picking with his family in the fall. He enjoyed coffee and socializing at Dunkin Donuts and Market Basket Café while he indulged in scratch tickets. 

Frank was a believer in Jesus Christ and a member of Emmaus Bible Church in Carver. He attended Sunday services regularly with his wife. He enjoyed the time spent fellowshipping with his church family. 

He is survived by his wife, Karen L. (Casey) Ricardo; his children, Frank D. Ricardo, Jr. and his wife Sallie of Leominster, Jeremy Ricardo and his wife Renee of Salem, NH and Tanya Sullivan and her husband Shawn of Halifax; his half brothers, John Ricardo, David Ricardo and Jeffery Ricardo all of Plymouth.

The family has requested instead of flowers contributions be made to the Plymouth Firefighters Local 1768 P.O. Box 808 Plymouth, MA 02362-0808.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Emmaus Bible Church, 17 Church St., Carver, MA on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11 am.
