Frank J. Mott, 92
WAREHAM – Frank J. Mott, Jr., 92, of Wareham, passed away on March 1, 2023 at Sippican Healthcare Center, Marion. He was the son of the late Frank J. and Mary B. (Baptiste) Mott.
He was born in Marion and lived most of his life in Wareham. He graduated from Wareham High School and was awarded a football scholarship to Delaware State College.
Mr. Mott worked as a bus driver for Stafford Hills Nursing Home and Assisted Living in Plymouth for many years before retiring.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Fr. Grogan Council 15280 Knights of Columbus in Wareham. He loved watching sports of all kinds, he was an avid golfer, liked sailing, card games, gambling, traveling, he especially enjoyed his yearly trip to Trapp Family Lodge. He loved the Town of Wareham and leaves behind many acquaintances and friends.
Survivors include 4 sons, Richard Mott of New Bedford, Warren Mott of Wareham, Peter Mott of Clarksburg, MD and Paul Mott of Seattle, WA; a daughter, Amy Mott of Rochester; 2 sisters, Laura Zompa of Mattapoisett and Janet Gross of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Robert Mott of New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son the late Frank "Skippy" Mott III, and his brother the late Raymond Mott.
Visiting hours are from 5 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, Mar. 9, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
His funeral will be held at 9 AM on Friday, Mar. 10, 2023 from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
