Fred C. Savage, 59, district manager for Dollar Tree, Inc.

Fred C. Savage, 59, of W. Wareham, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of Paulette A. (Frisoli) Savage.

Born in Natrona Heights, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick C. & Jane (Krukowski) Savage. A previous resident of New Jersey and Connecticut, Mr. Savage moved to Wareham in 2005.

A graduate of Penn. State, Mr. Savage was a retail manager for K-Mart for 36 years, retiring in 2005. After his retirement, he returned to work as district manager for Dollar Tree, Inc.

A British car enthusiast, Mr. Savage enjoyed driving his 1958 Triumph TR3. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed Penn. State football, travelling, and cooking.

He is survived by his wife Paulette; his brother, Gregory D. Savage and his wife Sylvia of New Hartford, NY; several nieces and nephews and his cherished poodles, “Pepper Rose” and “Bear”.

His funeral will be held Sat., Jan. 15, 2011 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony’s Church, Gault Rd., W. Wareham, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
