Free college prep program offered on Feb. 2 at high school

Jan 26, 2017

Wareham High School students are invited to learn about three educational options that will prepare them for college while still in high school. Three informational sessions will be held on Feb. 2 in the Wareham High School auditorium.

The first is a presentation on advanced placement classes from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Taking advanced classes may allow students to skip introductory courses and build skills needed at college.

A presentation on the school’s dual enrollment program begins at 7 p.m. This 20-minute session explains the program’s benefits, including the offer of free courses or reduced tuition rates at area colleges for dually enrolled students.

Starting at 7:20 p.m., a 20-minute presentation on the International Baccalaureate program will be held. The program will explain the program, which strives to develop international-mindedness in a global context. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.
