Free employment workshops in May at Wareham Free Library

The Wareham Free Library will be holding 3 free employment workshops on consecutive Wednesdays, May 2, 9, and 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Participants can register for individual workshops or all 3 in person at the library’s main desk or by calling 508-295-2343, ext. 1010.

May 2 workshop - Resumes

A general discussion of resume writing in a round table format. Participants will discuss how to include key words in their resumes and the difference between chronological and functional resumes.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own resumes for a confidential one-on-one analysis.

May 9 workshop - Interviews

Participants will role play typical interview questions and how to best answer them in an interactive and informal question and answer session.

The workshop will also review how to avoid job candidates' most common interview mistakes.

May 16 workshop - Online job search and resume submittal

This workshop will analyze online job search strategies such as job boards, job alerts, job aggregators, and company employment pages. Included is a discussion on how to best utilize these web sites when submitting one's resume.

Workshops will be facilitated by Gary Gekow, senior employment specialist with 24 years of recruiting experience in the Boston staffing industry.
