Friend: Macro was well-liked, kind, and caring
According to a friend, Joshua Macro, who died after being hit by a motor vehicle on Onset Avenue early Saturday morning, was an all-around good friend.
Caroline Wittenmeyer, a friend of Macro’s for over 10 years, said he was a kind, caring person who always looked out for others before himself, and that despite a dirt-bike accident that left him disabled several years ago, he always remained positive.
“From the first time we talked, I was already hooked on him,” said Wittenmeyer, who said Macro was a people person who always had a crowd around him, and that he was especially well-liked amongst the female crowd. “Josh just had a way of making everything seem like it was ok.”
Wittenmeyer said that Macro attended Upper Cape Tech for automotive and that he was always into cars and motorcycles; he also wanted to be a professional basketball player up until his injury in the motorcycle accident.
She also said that over the past few years, he turned a love for drawing into a job as a tattoo artist.
“Regardless of his situation he always was in positive spirits and would make sure you had a smile on your face. He would light up the room no matter where he was.”
