Spring is just around the corner, and along with flowers and allergies, spring brings the Wareham Garden Club’s $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and college students.

The scholarships are open to students who have lived in Wareham for at least one year, have a GPA of at least 3.0 and are of good character. 

To be eligible, high schoolers must be graduating in spring 2023 and have already been accepted to a place of higher education.

The students must be planning to study horticulture, floriculture, environmental studies, land management, botany, biology, conservation, landscape design or architecture, forestry, agronomy, city planning or any related subject.

Students who have participated in extracurricular activities related to the previously mentioned subjects will receive special consideration. 

Interested students should contact their guidance office for more information. 

College students must provide official transcripts showing successful completion of coursework. 

All applications must be postmarked on or before Friday, March 31.
