Lance Berkman, a Gatemen alumni, will be one of six inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Hall of Fame on Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Wequassett Inn in Harwich.

Berkman, who played for the Gatemen in 1996, spent 15 years playing for the Astros and the Cardinals in the Major Baseball League. 

He won the Cape Cod Baseball League batting title with a .352 average while playing for the Gatemen. 

Seating for brunch will begin at 9:45 a.m. and a silent auction will take place. The ceremony will begin at 12 p.m., with Scott Wahle serving as the Master of Ceremonies. 

Tom Crane, a Wareham Gatemen member, will be awarded the Richard “Dick” Sullivan Award at the Brunch. 

This award is presented to a person who exhibits outstanding  leadership qualities, works to enhance the franchise and/or League reputation and success, behaves professionally and exceeds expectations by going above and beyond.
