There were hamburgers, a helicopter and a home run at the Wareham Gatemen’s first responders’ night on Sunday, July 30.

Prior to the game, the Wareham Police Department, Wareham Fire District, Onset Fire Rescue, Wareham Emergency Medical Services Local 2895 and Wareham Department of Natural Resources held touch-a-truck for the community.

The Massachusetts State Police helicopter made an appearance with a flyover and landing on Spillane Field.

Chief of Police Walter Correia sang the national anthem and the first pitch of the game was thrown by Correia, Fire Chief John Kelley, Onset Fire Chief Jeffrey Osswald and Emergency Medical Services Director David Evans.

The Gatemen finished the game with a 5-4 win over the Cotuit Kettleers.

The event was sponsored by District Attorney Timothy Cruz.
