Middle School 1
The Middle School 1 team came off a bye week with a hard fought 6-5 victory over Brockton. The Junior Vikings got on the board quickly, scoring just 30 seconds into the game with Zack Lovendale winning the face off back to Seth Tomasik, who took a shot that deflected off a Brockton defender's stick into the back of the net. The lead was short lived as Brockton tied it up a few minutes later.
After a game full of back and forth play, the Junior Vikings scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period when Peter Pimental tipped home a shot from Coleby Paling. Goaile Alex DeMarco pushed away 15 shots earning his second win on the young season.
Middle School 2
Middle School 2 won their first game of the season Friday night beating Norton 5-3 in Bridgewater. The third period started with a 3-3 tie game until Noah Demoranville scored to give Gateway the lead. Johnny Rodrigues added an insurance goal soon thereafter, earning himself a hat trick.
The two strong defensive lines in Bethany Davis, Austin Fleming, Makayla Lorance and Bryan Gallagher kept the puck away from goalie Noah Saunders.
