Gerard F. McDonough, 66, insurance broker

Gerard F. McDonough, 66, of Wareham, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 21, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of Elaine (Gould) McDonough.

Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Francis and Louise McDonough.  Mr. McDonough attended Northeastern University and Bentley College. A previous resident of Marshfield and Plymouth, he moved to Wareham two years ago.

An independent insurance broker, Mr. McDonough owned and operated G.F. McDonough Insurance. He was a member and past treasurer of the Plymouth Lions Club and enjoyed sailing.

Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Kimberly McHenry, of Branford, CT, and Mary Lou McDonough of Duxbury; his son, Paul McDonough of Plymouth; his step-children, Christopher L. Whitton of Wareham and Michelle Sedlacheck of Stoneham, and his grandchildren, Summer Lee McDonough, Helenka G. Whitton, and Nikolka C. Whitton.

Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 82 High St., Wareham, at 11 a.m.  Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham.
