Ghosts of Gateway to benefit Wareham Historical Society
As Halloween draws closer, residents can prepare to get their spook on with the Wareham Historical Society’s Ghosts of Gateway program on Oct. 3.
Local paranormal investigators and the Spooky Southcoast radio show will lead guests in a paranormal investigation of four different historical buildings owned by the Wareham Historical Society – the Fearing Tavern, built in 1690; the Old Meetinghouse, built in 1835; the One-Room Schoolhouse, built in 1825; and the Union Chapel, built in 1880.
In addition to dinner, attendees will be able to participate in investigating for signs of the paranormal, whether it be collecting data like Electronic Voice Phenomenon (in which spirits imprint their voices on digital recordings) or having personal experiences such as being touched by unseen hands.
The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. Tickets are $99 per person, with a portion of all sales going back to the Wareham Historical Society to help preserve these historic haunts. Tickets must be purchased in advance at spookysouthcoast.com/gatewayghosts2015, or by making arrangements with Spooky Southcoast co-host Tim Weisberg at tim@spookysouthcoast.com or by calling him at 508-322-1985.
