Gleason Family YMCA Knitting Group thankful for donations

Jan 15, 2014

To the editor,

The knitters and crocheters from the Gleason Family YMCA Knitting Group again send a large thank you to the many who have donated yarns of all sorts to our group. Many clever projects have been made and over the past several years we have been working on the project.

The group meets 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the YMCA. Most items are donated to Turning Point, a resource center for families in need, Baby point, and other agencies where needed.
The items made are hats, mittens, scarves, afghans, shawls, baby sweaters, etc.

If you have always wanted to learn how to knit or crochet, we are willing to teach you the basic stitches. Please bring your skein of knitting worsted yarn and size eight single or circular needles for the lessons. There will be a fee of $5 per session.

Anyone interested, but unable to make it to the Wednesday get-togethers at the YMCA are welcome to work at home. Please call Pat Lockhart, at 508-295-1128, or e-mail at 508-295-1128.
