Glenn McWilliams, Sr., 75

WAREHAM – Glenn McWilliams, Sr., 75, of Wareham, died Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of Norma K. (Ross) McWilliams.

A lifelong resident of Wareham, he was the son of the late Robert and Beatrice (Watts) McWilliams and graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1967. Mr. McWilliams served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war from 1969 to 1971.

Mr. McWilliams worked as an auto mechanic for the former Strawn Buick in Wareham, and then was custodian for Taunton Public Schools from 1981 until his retirement in 2013.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wareham. Mr. McWilliams was a member of the Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club in MIddleboro, and the American Legion Post # 220 in Wareham. He was also an avid fan of all four Boston sports teams.

Survivors include his wife, Norma McWilliams of Wareham; his children, Glenn McWilliams and his wife Farrah of Bourne, Brian McWilliams and his wife Kerry of Wareham, and Megan Santos of Wareham. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brayden, Madison, Alaina, Khloe and Hadley. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Darrell McWilliams, Kent McWilliams, and Craig McWilliams.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wed., Dec. 27, 2023 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.
