Gordon Connolly, Sr., 80, of Wareham died March 3 in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Rosemarie (Santos) Connolly and the son of the late Edmund and Julia (Mendes) Connolly.

He was born in Wareham and lived there all of his life. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.

Mr. Connolly worked for the Laborer’s Union, Local 721 for many years before retiring.

He was a member of Church in the Vine in Carver.

Survivors include his son, Gordon Connolly, Jr. of East Wareham; a daughter, Brenda Neal of Cedar Hill, Texas; a sister, Jeannette Bluefort of Lynn; two brothers, Paul Connolly of Wareham and Edmund Connolly, Jr. of New Bedford; six grandchildren, Ashley, Desiree, Mya, Shannon, Brandi and Renee; four great grandchildren, Maurice, Drew, Ayra, and Andrew “Emmy” and several nephews and nieces. He was the father of the late Bruce McCloney, Cheryl Connolly and Tamara M. Connolly and brother of the late Carol Silva.

His funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8 in the Church of the Vine, 5 Wareham St., Carver. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
